2023

The first regatta of 2023 is already in the books and its been a few weeks of adjusting time zones and temperatures after getting home from Singapore where the humidity was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced and we now have minus temperatures in the UK.

Fortunate scheduling meant that I had an exam the day prior to flying out to Singapore and I was glad that it was done and out of the way before the event, and I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel for my degree - 4 months and 3 modules left!

The last few months running up to Christmas were pretty hectic with an 8 week placement, interrupted by ETF Racing with the Athena Pathway and SailGP Dubai followed by a busy teaching schedule throughout December so I was very relieved when the Christmas break arrived! I’ve been lucky to receive support from the University of Winchester to make some of the scheduling bottlenecks work and there are a few more to navigate before the summer arrives so it’s time to knuckle down and get as much work done as possible before sailing picks up more over the next few months.

I’m really excited for the year ahead and already have some great projects in the pipeline, next up is SailGP Sydney in February where I will again be supporting Hannah Mills in her return following the birth of her beautiful baby and then it’s straight back to host the RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show at Farnborough International, I’ve just had sight of the talk schedule and there is a great line up as well as a huge number of exhibitors to visit so it promises to be another fantastic Show.

For now it’s time to put my head back in the books, crack on with my dissertation before popping back up to head down to AUS in a couple of weeks time.
